Michael McCumber Sho-Dan 1971
Mike came to me back in 1971 as a young teenager, reached his Sho-Dan level in 1979. Mike was a very dedicated Karate-ka, studying Shroin-Ryu both under myself as well as Ernie Nastrada. (Michigan) Mike, an assistant instructor, would teach classes at my dojo in Washington, DC when I was on travel. Mike McCumber was a Sgt. with teh D.C. Metropolitan Police force. Passing away from a heart attack in 1996, a very dedicated Karate-ka that is missed by all that knew him.
